Project Summary
St Pancras Hospital is located in the St Pancras and Sommerstown area of central London, near Camden and originally the site of the St Pancras Workhouse. A 3D Revit Model was requested to enable feasibility studies, planning and onward design for potential re-development and refurbishment.
Survey Brief
Terrain Surveys were commissioned by the local NHS trust to carry out a programme of measured surveys at the St Pancras Hospital site. A topographical survey, elevations and an underground service trace, all within a 3D Model, was requested.
A complex, tight site, all the data was captured using a combination of Total Station and 3D laser scanning equipment, liaising closely with the estates department to ensure minimum disruption this busy working hospital.
Key Facts
- A comprehensive survey schedule was provided and all survey work completed while working around other contractors on site and at a hospital that was fully operational.
- Using 3D laser scanning allowed us to complete the work quickly, providing a highly accurate comprehensive set of data to be used within Revit for the modeling process
- Two Revit files were provided, one for the building and one for the topographical survey which included underground services
- Prior to issuing the final survey deliverables the survey was checked to our stringent QA checking procedures
- The survey was completed within the agreed timescales and to a tight budget
