Terrain helps prepare Aylesbury Estate Regeneration

Notting Hill Housing Trust and Barratt were appointed by London Borough of Southwark in January 2014 to carry out the regeneration project, with HTA Design working on the master plan. A framework of architects has also been appointed to design several phases of construction work.

Aylesbury Estate has become known for high levels of deprivation and was a backdrop to Tony Blair’s first major speech as prime minister, promising “there would be no more forgotten people”. After funding cuts in 2010, the project is now back up and running and the entire estate is to be demolished and reconstructed in stages over the next two decades.

Detailed plans for demolition and construction of the first phase of 800 homes are being put together by the architects based on accurate plans, elevations and section drawings produced by Terrain Surveys. These survey drawings were supported by a combination of topographical and measured surveying techniques, to show the existing buildings, land topography, surrounding hard landscaping and structures.
