On Friday 10th February, Terrain Surveys were presented with the 2017 Surveyors Award in the Hertfordshire Building and Construction Awards. This was given for work on Rectory Lane Cemetery in Berkhamsted where we scanned the memorial arch, gates and walls as part of a project to improve the public space for hosting local events.
The judges commented about the innovative, non-intrusive, use of 3D laser scanning together with High Dynamic Range (HDR) panoramic photography. This allowed users with no previous CAD experience to view, pan 360 degrees, zoom, measure and mark up the surveyed point cloud.
John Lane, Director of Terrain Surveys comments, “We are delighted to have won the 2017 Surveyors Award. Our surveyors are proud that their expertise in surveying and 3D laser scanning has been recognised. We had a fabulous evening and winning the award really was the icing on the cake – well done to the team!”
The Hertfordshire Building and Construction Awards are sponsored by organisations including Constructing Excellence, The Green Triangle, Oaklands College and Borough of Broxbourne. Proceeds raised at the awards evening were donated to Mesothelioma UK.
