On Thursday 8th February, celebrity builder Tommy Walsh presented John Lane and the team from Terrain Surveys with the 2018 Surveyor’s Award in the Hertfordshire Building and Construction Awards. The award was given for a 3D laser scan survey of the oldest pub in England, Ye Olde Fighting Cocks in St Albans.

The judges were impressed by how 21st Century techniques had been used to capture accurate measurements of the complex structure, parts of which date back to 9th century. Detailed plans and elevation drawings were produced for landlord Christo Tofali and Rogan Gale-Brown Architects, to support plans for a £1m restoration and redevelopment project.

John Lane, Director of Terrain Surveys said, “We are delighted to have won the Surveyors’ Award for the second year in a row. Our team of surveyors were there on the evening to celebrate the achievement, which is well deserved by their hard work and ability.”

The Hertfordshire Building and Construction Awards are sponsored by organisations including Orca pay Group, Konnetix, Futurelink Group, Absolute Accountancy Recruitment and Aim Sales & Marketing Solutions.
