Overview
Bury Park Community Centre has been providing the local community in Luton with valuable services for over 25 years. It was originally the site of a fast food restaurant and converted into a community centre in 1998..
In order to keep serving the local community in the best possible way it was decided that it was time for a re fit.
Survey
Before any refit work could begin a thorough picture of the current site needed to be completed. In order to get an accurate picture 4 surveys were required. 1st a measured building survey to provide highly detailed floorplans, elevations and sections.
The point cloud data complied during the measured building survey enabled the CCTV surveyors to easily identify all the internal manholes and efficiently conduct their survey.
Finally all the external utilities within the site and on surrounding roads were traced to give the client full site information as well as context surrounding the site.
Results
Within the quoted time frame we were able to provide the client all the detailed information they required to enable a thorough refurbishment of this important community centre.
Highly detailed floorplans, elevations, drain survey and utility mapping were all provided.
The results were delivered to the client on time and on budget. The key to the success of the project was undoubtedly one company undertaking all the surveys for the project.
It enabled the correct surveyors to be in situ when needed with the correct data at their fingertips. There was no down time and no wasted man power.
Plus the client had a single point of contact to coordinate site access and answer any questions.
