Measured Surveys of a Hotel in Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Overview
Terrain Surveys were pleased to undertake both a measured building survey and a topographical survey of a boutique hotel in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The hotel, located in the heart of Stevenage’s Old Town, was to remain open and operational throughout the survey. Our client, a London-based architecture practice, required a comprehensive set of site drawings to support renovations plans.
The Survey
From our Welwyn head office, our team made the short journey to Stevenage to undertake both surveys. Internally, our measured building survey team were tasked with producing detailed floor plans, and were careful to ensure minimal disruption was caused to staff and guests whilst surveying the many rooms of this characterful hotel. As well as features such as such as stairs, walls and doors, the floor plans would include services such as sanitary fittings downpipes and risers.
Externally, our teams were to produce a roof plan, as well as 6 elevations of the hotel, with features such as doors, windows and structural features to be drawn. For the topographical survey, site features such as fences, walls, and surrounding buildings were to be drawn. Once the team had finished the survey, they returned to our Welwyn office to process the scan data ahead of delivery of the site drawings.
The Result
Terrain Surveys are proud to have supported hotels and other such venues with measured surveys for two decades, and we therefore pleased to deliver a comprehensive set of site drawings, delivered in 2D DWG format, to enable our client to move to the design stage. As with all surveys we undertake, the survey was completed to the agreed timescale and budget, while causing minimal disruption.
