3D Revit Model of Westmorland Shopping Centre in Kendal, Cumbria

Project Summary

Westmorland Shopping Centre is located in the centre of Kendal in the Lake District. With proposals in place to modernise the shopping centre, which currently comprises of a number of units on two levels and Kendal’s indoor market.

Survey Brief

Being instructed by the new owners of the centre, Terrain Surveys captured pointcloud data of the entire shopping centre and multi-storey car park both internally and externally.  Using pointcloud data a detailed 3D Revit survey model was created.

Key Facts

• A comprehensive survey schedule was provided and all survey work completed with minimal disruption to the busy shopping centre

• Using 3D laser scanning allowed us to complete the work quickly, providing a highly accurate comprehensive set of data to be used within Revit for the modeling process

• Two Revit files were provided, one for the shopping centre and one for the multi-storey car park which were linked together

• Prior to issuing the final survey deliverables the survey was checked to our stringent QA checking procedures

• The survey was completed within the agreed timescales and to a tight budget
